Community Radio serving 10,000 square miles of Western Colorado since 1979

Strategic priorities for the next 12–18 months

Our strategic priorities are:

  1. Initiative 1: Reimagine the organization and its programming/services beyond the FM dial into the digital media future. This would be motivated by being a consistent and reliable source for regional news, giving voice to the voiceless, and building more audience engagement opportunities.
  2. Initiative 2: Recruit, employ, and retain staff and work towards fair compensation for quality staff members.
  3. Initiative 3: Establish a solid and sustainable financial position and physical infrastructure for the organization into the future with proper reserves, investments, and an endowment.

A drop in traditional broadcast listening is hurting public media, and our model of volunteer programming is especially challenging. We need to retain donors and build a younger audience while using social media to attract new and younger members.

We have a new energy around IRL events and using paid Meta/Google Ads to get the word out about who we are to a new audience. This includes a new hire to help with these priorities.
